Mao's Nursing Diary

No. 1 (June 25th, 1998)

SAKURAHello, I'm Mao. Sorry kept you waiting for my Nursing Diary! My mom has been very busy for taking care of newborn kittens. Yes, two Norwegian Forest Cats (Dvalin and Isabel) had kittens in my house! I think I will be busy too.

Actually, I don't care about the kittens before one month old. Why? I'm not interested in such tiny kittens. (They look like mice, don't they?)

But Dvalin's kittens are big, so I feel like taking care of them. A couple days ago, I went into her cage and licked her babies. Then she got angry! How narrow-minded! But she's a really good mother, so I forgot it.

Now I'm taking care of Sakura. She's more than 5 months old and much bigger than me! But she loves me very very much, and I love her too!

This is the photo of Sakura in the cabinet. Isn't she lovely?

No. 2 (July 28th, 1998)

Hi, this is Mao. Sorry for kept you waiting.
Why didn't I write for such a long time? Though we had so many kittens?

That's why I couldn't write. I'm too tired to do anything.

Sakura is now much bigger than me, she doesn't need my help. She plays with other cats near her age. She's good.

When Dvalin had her kittens, I was so happy. They're so cute and I took care of them.

Next, Isabel had her kittens. That's OK, they're three beautiful sisters. I took care of them, too.

But when Cher-Cher had her kittens, I was so surprised. She had six kittens! Six more kittens?! Oh my goodness, now I have to take care of 14 kittens.

Dvalin's kittens and Cher-Cher's kittens have same father, Mattis came from Norway. He looks proud. Yes, you're great. They're your first kittens, and they're all so nice and cute.

I do my best, of course. I lull kittens to sleep, amuse them with my tail. But it seems to be endless. OK, Silver slept. Next, Red? Good, he slept, too. Then Brown, Black & White, Red Silver, and Brown again. How many kittens do I have to take care of? Please understand how I feel.

My mom always plays with the kittens, but when she has something to do, she asks me to look after them.

Anyway, I try my best. I love all the kittens.

Oh, this time, I complained too much, I'm so sorry.
I'll write more joyful diary next time.
